The Jacksonville Icemen have acquired forward Nathan Dunkley from the Kansas City Mavericks in exchange for future considerations.
The 25-year-old Campbellford, Ontario native brings a wealth of experience across junior, collegiate, and international hockey. Dunkley began his career in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), where he played five seasons split between the Kingston Frontenacs and London Knights. During that time, he established himself as a reliable two-way centerman, recording 161 points (64 goals, 97 assists) in 258 games.
Following his junior career, Dunkley transitioned to U SPORTS hockey with Saint Mary’s University, where he continued to develop as a top offensive contributor. In his senior season, he led the Huskies’ attack with 33 points (18 goals, 15 assists) in 26 regular-season games, adding 9 points in 7 playoff contests, proving himself as a clutch performer on the national stage.
His career also took him overseas, where he spent time in Sweden’s HockeyEttan with Hudiksvalls HC and Wings HC Arlanda, and later joined the Melbourne Mustangs of the Australian Ice Hockey League. In Australia, Dunkley made an immediate impact, piling up 24 points in just 12 games while showcasing his high-end offensive instincts and adaptability to different styles of play.
Dunkley entered the professional ranks in March 2025, signing with the Kansas City Mavericks (ECHL). In his first stretch of North American pro hockey, he posted 12 points in 15 regular-season games, followed by 4 points in 11 playoff appearances, quickly proving he could translate his scoring touch to the ECHL level.
Now with the Icemen, Dunkley is expected to bring speed, creativity, and scoring depth to Jacksonville’s forward group. His experience across multiple leagues and his consistent production at every level of play make him a versatile addition. Whether driving offense at even strength or contributing on special teams, Dunkley’s combination of skill and work ethic will make him a valuable asset as the Icemen push toward another competitive season.
